Case Study: Bio-Remediation of Maisaiah Nagar Lake by Magnatree Ventures Pvt. Ltd.
Introduction Water bodies in India are increasingly facing pollution due to industrial discharge and domestic waste. One such affected site is Maisaiah Nagar Lake in Warangal. Magnatree Ventures Pvt. Ltd., a Mumbai-based biotech company specializing in bio-remediation and waste management, undertook a project to restore this lake using their innovative microbial consortium technology. Problem Statement Maisaiah Nagar Lake suffered from severe water pollution caused by continuous dumping of waste. The lake exhibited the following issues: - Stagnant sewage water with a foul odor. - High levels of debris and untreated sewage. - Blackish water with high turbidity. - Elevated levels of pollutants such as BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), TSS (Total Suspended Solids), and ammonia.
